ATRD508E FEED PELLET MILL
This is the ATRD508E ring die pellet mill. It is a direct drive mill.
This mill is rated at 2500 KG (5500 Lbs) per hour for softwood pellets. But that number should be taken with a grain of salt. Your actual production will depend on the type of material being processed. Grasses and grains are the easiest, wood is harder, and hardwoods are the worst to make into pellets. Your skill in managing particle consistency and moisture control are the biggest factor in how much production you will achieve. This mill is available with either a feed die or a wood die. It has enough torque to work either way but production is about doubled when making feed pellets.
This mill uses only 132 KW (180 HP) of 3 phase electric power which makes it very economical to use. That doesn’t mean it will always use that much. That is simply the maximum load it can endure. The actual usage is always predicated by the load you put on it. Its going to eat a lot of electricity to produce wood pellets, and hardly break a sweat producing feed pellets.The small motor driving the conditioner uses 5.5 KW per hour of electricity. There is also a third motor pushing the raw material into the mill. It uses .55 kw of power. I recommend that you use this mill with a VFD (variable frequency drive) so that you can change the speed of the motors to peak your production. Getting exactly the right speed can make a gigantic difference in the production you achieve with any pellet mill. You are welcome to buy this mill with or without a motor. This mill weighs 3500 KG (7700 LBS ) with the motor and 3150 KG (6950 lbs) without the motor.

You should plan on changing the expendable die and roller every 21 days of operation assuming an 8 hour workday. Spare dies are $2300.00 and spare rollers are $1350.00. Most of the parts that might ever go bad on this machine should be easily sourced at a local parts supply house or industrial hardware store. If you are not a good wrench, you should either plan on learning to become one, or have one on your payroll. This is good industrial grade machinery but like all machinery it requires regular maintenance.
