The ATFP300E is an electrically powered pellet mill with a 300 mm diameter die, the holes in the die can be pretty much whatever size you would like. As you can see above it can be had with a built up gear case or a cast variety. Its more convenient for me to build it when the cast case is readily available from the castings company but if they are backed up I don’t have a problem building it from plate steel either. There isn’t any real difference in them otherwise, both use the hypoid gear with its ring and pinion gears common to many vehicle differentials. It is designed to be powered by a 1500 to 1700 rpm electrical motor. If I supply the motor it will be a 22KW 3 phase motor but you can decide what voltage you want. In fact you can order it without the motor and use your own. It is rated at 660 to 880lb per hour of production depending on the type of material you want to pelletize. Wood is much more difficult to pelletize than grasses or grains and this mill is not suited to wood pellet production due to the high gearing which makes it turn faster but also produce less torque consequently production rates are much higher for feed pellets than if it were geared for wood pellets. It will require an electrical motor with a continuous power rating of 30HP or more. It weighs 1127 Lb and its dimensions are 50x21x42 inches. Spare Die is $161.00 Spare Roller assy is $147.00 Figure on changing the die and roller every 1600 hours of operation, but rocks, bolts etc. can damage them beyond use, so I recommend you keep a set of spares..
